With reference to a recreational sport event that you are familiar with, answer the following:

(a) Illustrate your role in the event with regard to the four management functions of
i. Planning
ii. Leading
iii. Organising; and
iv. Controlling
(b) Discuss how the five steps in the Recreational Sports Programme Planning Model (Mull, Forrester & Barnes, 2013) were applied:
i. Explain the three goals of the event organizer.
ii. Apply a needs theory to describe participant needs.
iii. Operationalise two goals from your answer in i) into measures that describe how the goals will be achieved using the ABCD principle. Each measurable outcome objective should be in one sentence containing the ABCD elements.
iv. Explain two operation areas that are critical during program implementation with regard to the two measurable outcome objectives.
v. Justify the method you would use to evaluate the satisfaction of the experience among the most important group of stakeholders and propose three questions to ask for data collection.
(c) Discuss how the five broad dimensions of service quality as perceived by the consumer (Parasuraman, 2013) make delivering quality recreational sports experiences during the event challenging:
