What do I do?

You will need to draw on relevant ideas and concepts you have encountered in the course, to write a 1, 500-word individual reflective essay exploring the following open topic: The meanings OR understandings of Asian popular culture in your everyday life. Your tutor will help you revise your plan related to this topic during the course.

You may refer to specific cultural groups, activities or practices AND/OR
to popular cultural texts. Popular cultural texts may refer to specific artifacts (eg. a film, a television show, an online website, a star, etc.), to genres (eg. martial arts cinema), or to a lecture topic discussed in the course. The purpose of this task is to encourage you to critically examine and reflect upon your understanding of your own everyday popular cultural uses and practices. This task asks you to make interesting connections between critical concepts and approaches discussed in the course and the meanings and uses you make of a specific Asian popular culture text, practice, or technology in your everyday life.

How do I do It?
Reflective essays are often much broader than research essays. You are
trying to engage with the course as a whole, addressing key course
themes and using relevant key readings to analyze a part of your professional/personal experience. But make sure you clearly outline the
specific focus of your reflective analysis and how you plan to explore it.
