• How do you know it is a problem (consider the local and national context and what data and/or intelligence you have to support your discussion) and what would improvement look like?
• What is the change you are proposing to implement and what evidence is there to support your ideas?

Main Body

In the main body of your essay, you must consider:

• How ready is your organisation for change, including an organisational diagnosis?
• The critical application of theories of leadership and theories of change to help you to explore how change might be successfully planned and implemented in practice.
• How might you identify, engage, and communicate with key stakeholders?
• How will your change improve the quality of care that is being delivered?

Conclusion

In your conclusion, you must:

• Summarise your discussion.
• Critically reflect on the change management process and the importance of leadership in that process, including the impact on your own professional development.

Supporting Information

The suggested word count for each section is a guide to ensure that you write in sufficient depth and detail to demonstrate the required learning outcomes in full; however, please do not exceed the total word count (2000 words) for the assignment. Try to write in the third person to maintain an appropriate academic tone and style.

You are encouraged to judiciously use tables and figures, particularly for descriptive content; however, the content of tables and figures must be materially relevant to, and discussed in, the prose (do not use tables and figures to circumvent the word count). Any supplementary material may be included in an Appendix.

Confidentiality must be protected and anonymity adhered to throughout the assignment – do not include any information that could identify those involved. Avoid identifying institutions by name, where possible.
