Coursework Instructions:

1. This assignment represents 40% of the total assessment for the module.

2. Please refer to and implement the format guideline below for this assignment:

• Prepare your ideas in a mind map format using the tool Padlet (https://padlet.com/). To draw the mindmap, you need to use the ‘Canvas’ template.

• Please enroll yourselves in the groups that will be created on Canvas.

• The number of students per group: 7 students.

3. You are required to select any 2 public listed companies in the same industry in Bursa Malaysia to be submitted to instructor for approval in the link provided in the canvas. Each group cannot have the same company and approval based on first come basis.

4. Please use the cover page template (compulsory) which includes the rubric and upload the Padlet mind map link on the cover page.

5. PLAGIARISM OR COPYING is an extremely serious offence. Identified use of another person’s work (plagiarism or copying), will incur an immediate failure (FAIL grade being recorded).

6. Penalties will apply to all late work: Marks for report received after the deadline will be capped at only 70% of total marks.

Assume you as a financial analyst and requires submitting a mind map on your findings/research of a public listed company in Malaysia, related to its “Financial Risk Management Measurement” based on its “Accounting Statements”.

Key Assignment Components (Mind Map Sections on Padlet):

(a) Introduction of Main Company

• Brief company profile (history, industry, main products/services).
• Key financial highlights for 5 years (total assets, revenue trends, market position).
• Introduction of the competitor selected for comparison.

(b) Ratio Analysis: Company vs. Competitor

• Analyze financial performance over five years (latest) in three key areas.

• Select any 2 ratios for each area: Liquidity, Profitability, and Leverage. The choice of ratio is not limited to those covered in the lesson.

• For each ratio, include:

o Formula & calculation for both companies over five years. Choose Group statement (not company data).

o Graphs/tables comparing the trends.

o Analysis: What do the trends indicate? Which company is performing better? Justify.

• Recommend to upload file in the Padlet as you need to show the computation and graph.

(c) Risk Analysis & Recommendations

• Identify three (3) main risks faced by the main company.

• Explain how these risks impact the company’s financial performance.

• Provide practical recommendations to mitigate each risk.

(d) Forward View – Future Prospects

• Based on past financial trends and industry outlook, predict the company’s future financial performance.

• Discuss growth opportunities and potential challenges.

(e) Reflection on Learning

• Key insights gained from the assignment.

• Use text, visuals, graphs, video recordings, and links to organize sections effectively.

• You are not allowed to use videos from YouTube unless they are created and uploaded by your group.
