BF2201/BF2219 Assignment
Introduction
In this assignment you will use Excel to apply the risk-return analytic tools we covered in class and give specific asset allocation recommendations. The asset allocation analysis employs stock price data for three U.S. listed companies: Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Occidental Petroleum Corp (OXY), and Target (TGT).
Some additional information on the excel assignment is included in the folder “Excel_ Assignment”, available on NTULearn. Complete the spreadsheet using Excel for Office 2019, 2021 or 365. Some of the functions mentioned below may not work in other versions of Excel.
This assignment is due on the week of 14 October (in class). You are required to submit:
Written report (Hard copy ONLY)
The written report should be 8-15 pages (excluding the title page and bibliography) with your responses to Tasks 1-7. Please use word to prepare the report (12 point font, A4 paper, 1.5 line spacing) that follows the format below:
- In the first page of your report, please write an executive summary (maximum 1 page) based on your analysis of all the required tasks. Please highlight what you think are the most significant results of your analysis.
- Each task requires you to perform data analysis, and then answer questions based on the data analysis. Please follow the sequence of the questions in your report for the task.
- Bibliography
- Include tables and/or figures required by each task. Each table should have a self-explanatory title and include labels for the numerical information presented.
- If you draw on outside sources when writing your report, you must cite the source and include the source in a bibliography. This includes any graphs or figures that you find on the internet. Use the APA style (google it) when citing works. If you do not cite these sources and reference them in a bibliography, you will receive a 50 (fifty) percent deduction on your final grade.
Spreadsheet (Soft copy, submitted via email to instructor)
Please also submit Excel spreadsheet “Excel_assignment” (soft copy, submitted by email) with the Tabs “Task 1” through “Task 7” completed. The calculated statistics in the spreadsheet should match the reported statistics in your written report, as described above.
Softcopy of the excel spreadsheet must be emailed to your respective instructor. Only one member of the group sends the email. The subject of the email should be:
