Individual Assignment
The weighting of this assignment is 50% of the total module assessment.
Each assignment is graded based on 100 marks.

Description of Assignment

The student will create his/her own teacher portfolio using Microsoft Sway. He/she will continue building the teacher portfolio throughout the course and his/her career. It will consist of THREE aspects to display his/her reflection in personal philosophy and beliefs about being an early childhood (EC) educator, a developmental plan for his/her personal and professional growth and reflections on one’s learning about self and journey to become an EC educator
and For this assessment, the student will need to include the following in his/her E-portfolio:

1) Title of e-portfolio e.g. My Professional Teaching E-Portfolio and a brief description what
this e-portfolio is all about and a self-introduction (50 words);

2) Personal philosophy and beliefs about being an EC educator (150 words);

3) Professional Growth: a developmental plan for his/her personal and professional growth in relation to ECDA’s Grow Me Professional Development Resource and Colouring Book and Katz’s stages of professional development for early childhood educators– 200 words); and

4) Select at least 2 artefacts (example: photographs, images and/or video up to 1 minute). Describe the artefacts and reflect on one’s learning about self and journey to become an EC educator (600 words). Use the following prompts to guide your reflections:

• What you have learned about self from the time you started with the diploma
course until now and your aspirations to become an EC educator.

• Reflect on how your competencies have grown as an EC educator. Describe
how your knowledge and abilities have grown.

• Explain what and how you would view and do things differently in the future,
making clear links to the content you have learned in the module.

Follow the steps below for submission of the e-portfolio using Microsoft Sway:

1) Export the e-portfolio to MS Word first.

2) Copy the URL link of the e-portfolio from Sway and paste it on the first line of the Word document that contains the e-portfolio.

3) Convert the Word document to PDF format after inserting the URL link.

4) Submit the PDF file to Turnitin on Canvas.
