You are a management consultant who has been employed by a company to advise on how an organization could recognize its employees for their contribution to the improvement of quality.
- Critically review the literature to identify approaches to employee recognition that would foster a commitment to the improvement of quality and help support a culture of quality. Create a proposal for the approach that you recommend for your client. In creating this proposal, identify from the literature problems in implementation that may be expected to arise, and how these could be overcome or avoided.
- Critically assess how the EFQM Framework or Baldrige Excellence Framework could support your proposal.
- Compare each element of your proposal to Deming’s System of Profound Knowledge and his 14 Points for Management and critically discuss your findings.
Assumptions:
You do not need to persuade your client of the benefit of employee recognition—your client understands this.
The client has not previously adopted any formal approach to recognition.
You may make any assumptions about the nature of the client’s business i.e. manufacturing, process, service, health care, etc.
You do not need to provide costs for your proposal.
