1. For Mrs. Lim:
i. Calculate and interpret her current BMI, and estimate her desirable body weight range.
ii. Calculate her Waist Hip Ratio and classify her risk factor.
iii. Based on current self-reported physical activity level, estimate her current caloric requirement (Please show all calculations).
iv. Estimate the amount of weight she is expected to lose each week.
v. Propose THREE dietary changes you would plan for her, in order to achieve the ideal body weight.
vi. Explain Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load and how they will help with Mrs. Lim’s Diabetes.
vii. Using her 3-day food dairy, analyze her food intake and compare her caloric intake based on her age, gender, and activity level. (Please include the food-nutrients analysis output in the Annex)
viii. With reference to part (v), plan a 1-day meal plan using “My Healthy Plate”, making qualitative recommendations to Day 3 of Mrs. Lim’s food record. (8m)
2. For Grandpa Lim:
i. Plan a 1-week exercise regime that meets the recommendation of Singapore Physical Activity Guideline (NPAG).
ii. Discuss TWO functions of Nutrition Information Panel. When grocery shopping for packaged food, suggest THREE healthier options in relation to Grandpa Lim’s health.
iii. Discuss FOUR causes and FOUR implications on Grandpa Lim’s weight status in relation to his health.
iv. Propose THREE ways to help Grandpa Lim manage his weight loss and poor oral intake.
3. For Nicole Lim:
i. Discuss THREE causes of Nicole’s eating behavior and weight status.
ii. Elaborate on SIX potential consequences of obesity for Nicole.
