Assignment Details
Background
The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is caused by a highly infectious virus that could have severe health consequences on individuals and could even lead to their death. As the number of COVID-19 cases increases rapidly worldwide, there has been an urgent call for behavioral (nonpharmacological) containment actions to stop the diffusion of the virus so as to reduce the contagion rate. Singapore has adopted various non-pharmacological nationwide measures, such as circuit breaker, wearing masks, social distancing, suspension of gatherings, tracking apps, and work-from-home, etc.
In early 2022, nevertheless, as the situation got better, the government has announced new measures to allow all employees return to the workplace and allow masks to be removed at workplace in certain circumstances. Group size and safe distancing will no longer be required.
All these policy changes have affected how teams work and even caused huge challenges to many teams. For example, as most employees have become used to working from home, it may be hard to draw them back to office.
To resolve these challenges, most teams have implemented various solutions. Some of these solutions are successful, but some others failed and even made things harder. Then two million-dollar questions are: “What team solutions are ineffective in response to the COVID-19 policy changes?” and “What should they do instead?” Studying existing ineffective team solutions and proposing feasible solutions as replacements can shed light on these two questions. You are a group of team dynamic professionals who serve to help your client’s team to solve their real-world problems.
- Identify what the challenges of team dynamics are (must be due to COVID-19 policy changes);
- b) Identify what solutions the team implemented (here you can only focus on the ineffective ones and ignore the neutral or effective ones);
- Explain why the solutions were ineffective;
- Develop potentially feasible solutions as a replacement;
