| Assessment | End-of-Course Assessment (ECA), July Semester 2026 |
| Deadline | 30 October 2026, 12 noon |

This SUSS LOG309 paper is set around a supplier of hard-to-forecast products whose stock keeps running short while total landed costs climb because of supplier problems, tariffs and sea-freight risk. Students must work with a generative AI tool in a controlled way, turn the weakness of the chosen technology into a data-feed (API) design, and then show how an Industry 4.0 solution still works when data or sensors are imperfect, before presenting the ideas on video.
Submission Items
- Report in .docx format, uploaded to Canvas through Turnitin (submit first, highest weightage).
- Video of 3 to 6 minutes, uploaded through Canvas ECA_VIDEO. A PowerPoint backdrop is not required.
- Presentation summary: the slides behind the video, saved as PDF, at least 20 words, no more than 15 slides, no internet templates.
Generative AI Use
GenAI tools are allowed with full attribution: a table listing the tool, the prompts used, the complete output and which part was adapted. SUSS may hold a viva voce to confirm authorship.
Section A (65 marks)
Question 1
Industry 4.0 (the Fourth Industrial Revolution) refers to the widespread adoption of advanced digital technologies across industries. In supply chain and logistics, these technologies are being integrated to create more intelligent, efficient and automated processes, enabling real-time visibility, predictive decision-making and greater operational resilience.
Your company supplies products that have unpredictable demand. In recent years, you have experienced several supply chain disruptions impacting suppliers, tariffs and maritime transit risks. These disruptions have resulted in shortages in inventory and an increase in total landed costs (the complete price of getting a product from the factory floor into a customer’s hands).
Analyse one (1) major technological application that can help with such a scenario. (20 marks)
- Construct a prompt of up to 50 words; the output should not exceed 200 words.
- From the output, provide one (1) strength and one (1) weakness of this technology.
- Include the prompt and its word count, and the GenAI output, in the submission.
- Estimated word count for your analysis: 200
Reflect on how your original prompt could have been revised to improve the quality of GenAI’s output. (5 marks, about 50 words)
Question 2
In order to address that weakness from Question 1, examine one (1) hypothetical API and the systems it obtains information from to produce the information required for that technology. The answer should read like a mini design document: inputs, processing, outputs, integration and controls, tied explicitly to the technology mentioned. (20 marks, about 200 words)
Question 3
From the output of the GenAI tool provided in Question 1, propose one (1) Industry 4.0 technology to address shortages and landed-cost increases. Extend the idea to operate under two constraints chosen from: limited sensor coverage, supplier data quality issues, tariff rule changes or unpredictable maritime delays. Explain how the solution would still produce useful output. (20 marks, about 200 words)
Section B: Video Presentation (25 marks)
- Organisation of presentation: 8
- Posture and body language: 5
- Eye contact with the camera, no reading from slides or cue cards: 5
- Pace and articulation: 7
Section C: Presentation Slides (10 marks)
- Format and style of slides: 3
- Clarity and coherence (title, introduction, body, results, recommendations, conclusion): 4
- Creativity: 3
Get guidance on your LOG309 ECA from a logistics and supply chain tutor.
The LOG309 ECA is marked as one connected argument, not three separate 200-word answers. Many students write a vague 50-word prompt, get a generic AI reply about digital twins or IoT, and then struggle to find a weakness specific enough to design a real API around. Question 3 also asks you to keep the solution useful under two constraints, so you need to explain fallbacks such as estimated ETAs or supplier data validation, not just name the technology. The video and slides carry 35 marks between them, so your report points must translate into a clear 3 to 6 minute talk. Our report writing service in Singapore can help you structure the report and the GenAI attribution table in APA.
