Project Guidelines

The aim of this ECA assignment is to assess your ability to:

• Use and integrate the knowledge gained and skills developed during your study of BME358 and BME359.
• Appraise the developments in the area of visualization and medical image
analysis.
• Demonstrate specific skills in the design and implementation of experiments.
• Solve problems using related visualization/imaging software tools relevant to
the area of study.
• Organise and manage own learning and performance to suit own situation and style.
• Prepare a clear project report using appropriate technical language.

The assignment is to write an academic report, which contains a comprehensive introduction, a discussion of what had been carried out, and the implications of your findings. The examiner will look for evidence that you have a thorough grasp of the course principles and that you can apply these principles in the project. The project topics are designed so that students should be able to progress toward the project goal. Students are examined on their project report. The report should be readable and intelligible to someone unfamiliar with the topic, and attention should be given to the presentation (grammar, spelling, punctuation, and layout), as well as to the content. The overall presentation is improved if the material is organized into sections with headings and sub-headings. In general, a modest project that has a clear explanation and is presented in detail is likely to obtain a better grade
