Question 1

The government has called for proposals from qualified companies to manage one of their performing venues.

The venue in question has TWO large halls – a 3,000-seat venue that has been heavily used in the past for music and other variety-type events; and a 1,600-seat venue that has been used primarily for arts events across all genres.

The 3,000-seat venue has seen heavy use and continues to be popular with concert promoters. Audiences like the venue and appreciate ease of access and proximity to good dining options and public transport. Over the last five years, it has averaged 80% occupancy.

The 1,600-seat venue has not been so appealing as potential users site shortcomings in its lighting systems and frequent issues with auditorium seats. Promoters still book the venue, but only after obtaining discounts and other concessions in exchange for using the venue. Occupancy stands at 60%.

Apply the SWOT analysis to answer the following questions.
