Project Assignment

The goal of the Project is to test the design thinking theory and related creation & development skills for user experience design in the course MTD220. You need to consider the project as the playground to apply and exercise the principles of design stacks, UXD, and JS/HTML/CSS development knowledge that you learned through the course.

This question’s task is to design, wireframe, create, and develop a micro-site. The metrics of marks is described in the following Table 1 regarding this assignment.

Project Specifications

This ECA Project requires you to create a micro-site that supports online courses (math, programming, business, design) platform and a 3-page report through conceptualising, designing and developing with the skills learned in the course and your life experiences. The website may contain course information display, online study, teacher/student personal pages, etc. (try to learn from similar websites and combine the good aspects from them in your designs)

Your micro-site must meet the following criteria:

1. Develop and implement your micro-site with Bootstrap as framework.

2. Ensure the micro-site consists of 4 pages in total (home page and 3 other subpages).
• Homepage – leave a good first impression to attract your audience
• Sub-page 1 – demonstrate the implementation of design thinking in detail
by creating your micro-site as a practical case study
• Sub-page 2 – apply bootstrap skills to build up detailed content within
the given topic’s suitable and consistent styles
• Sub-page 3 – develop relevant content to illustrate your HTML/CSS/JS
skills, enhanced design thinking, and enhanced user experience in your
micro-site

3. Implement RWD to the following screen sizes must be satisfied by all
webpages:
a. <576px
b. ≥576px <992px
c. ≥992px

Your report (Times – font size 12) should discuss the following area (better with graphs):

i. Discuss the target audience, objective and user flows of your micro-site
ii. Explain your understanding and details of applying design thinking into the
micro-site
iii. Briefly discuss the client-side technologies implemented in your micro-site
iv. Appraise and discuss the differences of usability for each stated screen size to potential devices
