Personal Nonverbal Behaviours:

Reflect on your own nonverbal behaviors over a period of one week and recognize the importance of nonverbal behaviors in how others perceive you. Present your answers in a one-page report format, clearly listing your personal observations, others’ opinions about you, analysis, and personal recommendations in point form statements. Specifically, your one-page report should cover:

• Personal Observations & Opinions of Others

Identify the nonverbal behaviors and cues that communicate your identity to the people around you. This must include your appearance, facial expressions, posture, gaze, style, and tone of voice. Ask the people around you about how you appear to them and analyze how your nonverbal behaviors may influence others’ perceptions of you.

• Analysis

Appraise the relevant research to support your observations and others’ opinions of you. In this analysis, you should analyze yourself as a whole and identify pertinent themes that you and others notice, e.g., self-confidence.
