Ms Blossom is a teacher at Cornerstone Primary School. A month ago, a 10-year-old boy, Benedict, joined her class. Ms Blossom has been struggling with managing  Benedict’s behaviours in class since then. She has recorded her observations on the  Antecedent Behaviour-Consequence (ABC) chart and came to you for advice. Below is a snippet of the ABC data collected by Ms. Blossom.

a) Examine and describe TWO (2) implications that Benedict’s behavioural
challenges have for learning. (16 marks)

b) Based on the ABC data gathered, identify the function of Benedict’s challenging behaviours and suggest an appropriate replacement behaviour. Describe how you would teach Benedict the replacement behaviour.

c) Create an appropriate intervention plan to address Benedict’s challenging
behaviours. In your response, describe and elaborate on
• TWO (2) ‘proactive’ strategies and
• TWO (2) ‘reactive’ strategy

Note: Teaching of replacement behaviour should NOT be included as one of the strategies in question 1c as it has already been covered in question 1b.
